2016
  • 5 November: Gordon Ashworth attended the Battersea Park Fireworks to raise funds for the Mayor and local South West Charities

  • 29 October: Sarah Metrustry attended the Battersea Park Rotary Club Halloween Party, raising funds for the Annual Christmas Dinner

  • 26 October: Sarah Metrustry met with other South West Group representatives at Devas Club, Battersea and they joined the Wandsworth Roteract Meeting

  • 11 October: Alan Cockayne, Mike Pilbeam and Sarah Metrustry competed in the annual Clay Pigeon Shoot

  • 21 September: President Helen Khan attended the South West Group of Rotary Clubs meeting

  • 2 July: Members of RC Kennington will join with fellow Rotarians on a Thames Boat Cruise to celebrate Eve Conway taking over as President of Rotary in Britain and Ireland (RIBI)

  • 25 June: The South West Group of Rotary Clubs had a stall at Battersea Community Festival for Stroke Awareness

  • 20 March: Young Musician Finals at James Allen’s Girls’ School, Dulwich

  • 17 March: The Rotary Club of Kennington supports the Lambeth Players amateur dramatics group at their production of “Annie, Get Your Gun” (Lambeth Mission from 7pm)

  • 1 March: Sarah Metrustry accepted an invitation from Ambassador Mulhall to attend a reception at the Irish Embassy

  • 27 February: Club Secretary went to a Curry Night event hosted by RC Streatham at Furzedown pub (proceeds to support Streatham’s ongoing work with Dementia)

  • 24 February: Sarah attended the South West Group meeting (Battersea) and afterwards, with Senia Dedic (President, Battersea Park) and Janice Daly (President, Streatham) went to the meeting of the Rotaract Club of Wandsworth (held biweekly at Revolution, Clapham Junction from 8pm)

  • 20 January: Club Hon. Secretary Sarah Metrustry attended the meeting of the South West Group of Rotary Clubs, held in Battersea

  • 17 January: David Lyons, Alan Cockayne, Alan Foxall, Sarah Metrustry and Helen Khan went to Essex to compete in the Rotary District 1130 Bowling Competition
 
2015
  • 13 September: Mike Pilbeam, Alan Cockayne and Sarah Metrustry represented the Club at the annual Clay Pigeon Shoot

  • 3 September: RC Kennington and guests visited the Supreme Court

  • 2 July: Reunion dinner with Presidential handover from Sarah Metrustry to Alan Foxall

  • 13 June: Battersea Park 60th Anniversary Black Tie Dinner at Crowne Plaza Hotel, Battersea

  • 20 May: Sarah Metrustry attended the meeting of the South West Group of Rotary Clubs at Tooting Conservative Club

  • 26 March: RC Kennington supported Lambeth Inner City Players at their Play in the Lambeth Mission, helping to raise £800 for the Children’s Society
  •  
  • 21 January: Club President, Sarah Metrustry, attended the South West Group of Rotary Clubs meeting (of which she was elected Secretary for 2014-15)

  • 18 January: Alan Cockayne, Richard Cooke and Sarah Metrustry competed in the Rotary bowling competition in Essex
 
2014
  • 4 December: Our Annual Christmas dinner

  • 24 November: Meet the American Embassy at Battersea Power Station, hosted by RC Battersea Park

  • 8 November: South West Group of Rotary Clubs fundraising event at the Battersea Park fireworks

  • 6 November: Kennington led in the quiz against Battersea Park…right up to the Rotary Round! Congrats and good luck to Battersea Park for the rest of the Rotary Quiz

  • 28 October: The South West Group of Rotary Clubs (including Kennington RC) handed over a cheque for £1000 to Providence House
  •  
  • 16 October: Diana Nell from Oasis will join us to discuss how we can work together to benefit the local Kennington community
  •  
  • 17 September: The Children’s Trust invited us to their Rotary Appreciation Day to say thank-you for the support that Rotary gives them
  •  
  • 4 September: the Rotary Club of Kennington and guests paid a visit to the Imperial War Museum (WWI exhibit) and were joined by guests from Colorado and Washington State at the Novotel afterwards.

  • 31 July: RC Kennington joined the Rotary Club of Battersea Park for their fundraising event at The Prince Albert

  • 24 July: The new District Governor (David Palmer) Visited

  • 23 July: Club President, Sarah Metrustry, was elected secretary for the South West Group of Rotary Clubs

  • 10 July: Sarah Metrustry kicks off her second term as President of RC Kennington at a Presidential Reception held at the London Headquarters, York Gate
  •  
  • 28 June: The Rotary Club will participate in the Lambeth Palace Garden Fete – one of the only occasions that the Palace Gardens are open to the public. Come along from 12.30 – 5pm to play the human fruit machine, Connect 4, quoits & do some fun science tests to help us raise money for local charities!

  • 29 May: The Rotary Club of Kennington Reunion Dinner

  • 15 May: Simone Webb will join our meeting to tell us about her volunteering trip to India (one of our 2014 donations)
  •  
  • 11 May: members of RC Kennington and friends will join the South West Clubs in a Boat Cruise on the Thames
  •  
  • 30 April: The next round of the quiz (SW vs NE) saw RC Kennington {Helen Khan (Cpt), David Lyons & Robin Paice} at home to RC Estree & Borehamwood but that was the end of the road for us for 2014. Good luck to Elstree & Borehamwood!

  • 3 April: RC Kennington hosted the Rotary Quiz Final (South West District) against Battersea Park & won!

  • 1 April: Club President attended the District Assembly Dinner at the Royal National Hotel

  • 27 March: RC Kennington supported the Lambeth Inner City Players production of Alice in Wonderland (at the Lambeth Mission) collecting £185 from a raffle

  • 23 March: Club President attended the Spring Concert hosted by Rotary Club of London at The Royal Overseas League

  • 13 March: Club President, Sarah Metrustry, attended the final 2013-14 Think Tank at York Gate

  • 30 January: Operation Smile Representative, Roger Goulden, visited to tell us about their fantastic work and we made a donation

  • 16 January: Rotary Think Tank The RC Kennington President represented the Club at a Think Tank in York Gate

  • 16 January: Ceremony of the Keys RC Kennington attended this cultural event at the Tower of London
 
2013
  • 12 December: Rotary Quiz: Round II – Our quiz team hosted the second round against the RC of Putney at our meeting
  •  
  • 5th December: RC Kennington Christmas event  – We had our Christmas event where we enjoyed a talk from our local charity, Roots and Shoots who we support – Tennis: President, Sarah Metrustry made it to the ladies singles finals for RC Kennington
  •  
  • 30 October: Houses of Parliament – Lambeth MP, Kate Hoey, organised a tour of the HP for RC Kennington and guests from other South West Rotary Clubs
  •  
  • 29 October: Rotary Quiz: Round I – Our quiz team Helen Khan, Robin Paice and David Lyons were the first round victors against the Rotary Club of Battersea, Brixton and Clapham. Well done!
  •  
  • 10 October: Rotary Think Tank – The RC Kennington President represented the Club at a Think Tank in York Gate
  •  
  • 7 SeptemberClay Pigeon Shoot – Mike Pilbeam, Alan Cockayne and Sarah Metrustry represented the Club with Mike coming joint second overall
